People always ask “Well, how do you heal illness / disease / anxiety / depression, etc?” Although I can pretty easily clean out any emotional and physical pain energetically, if someone is not living in truth, the healing will not hold permanently because of the inner conflict. I elaborate in great detail in my new book ‘The Seven Powerful Truths of Healing’ which will soon be available.
Being who you truly are means stepping into the truth of who you are at a soul level. Stepping into this truth may mean changing what you DO and therefore what you HAVE in your life. Don’t do it backwards: doing something different to try to change who you are … to try to get something different. The body knows who you really are so if you ignore the truth or try to negotiate, it will cause conflict and eventually physical symptoms.
BEing who you are may mean letting go of people, “responsibilities”, ideas, beliefs, even a career that you have continued to be loyal to long after it has stopped serving you. I sometimes see people try to “be okay” with a side step – not a step out of conflict and into their truth.
Sam was a successful accountant who had been suffering with severe migraine headaches for a couple of years. Medications were no longer having any impact and by the time he came to me for healing, he was willing to try anything – or so he thought. When I scanned him and told him that his career is absolutely not who he is and it was causing the migraines, he tried bargaining by deciding to cut back on working evenings and weekends… The migraines continued. Several months later, he finally gave himself permission to take a break for a couple of weeks. By the end of that time, he was willing to take a risk and look into the truth of who he is and what he wants. What he discovered was not half as scary as he had anticipated – it never is. The resistance to inquiring within is what causes the pain.
Sam found out that he was a teacher at heart – not an accountant… And before you panic and proclaim “Well, that’s EXACTLY why I don’t want to rock the boat! A teacher’s salary will never pay this mortgage, blah, blah, blah”… stop and take a breath.
1. You may not find out that you have to change careers, take a pay cut or divorce your spouse.
2. Think outside the box.
Sam found that cutting back on the time and energy invested in his corporate position and starting to teach ( of all things, surfing) created a balance and inner equilibrium that worked beautifully for him. His teacher Archetype was happy and so was his responsible self. He is in the process of healing. Although he no longer suffers from migraines, he is aware that he is leaning into the truth of who he is and will continue to shift in that direction.
A massive and abrupt change is not always necessary: leaning into the truth is.
BEing who you are carries great rewards: enormous peace and freedom, no longer shackled by “shoulds” and whatever rules you’ve made up.
